Video Content Creation
Requirement Gathering
Introduction
This section of the document will cover information about How (we at Video Geeks) gather the requirements for video content that we make. You can also say that this is the typical process that we follow while choosing the topic for the video content.
Process
The process is very simple. We try to prioritise the video topics based on the description below:
- We take viewer’s comment as a top priority
- If not, we take expert’s* opinions as second priority
- If not, we take our own decision based on the trend as least priority
We prioritise viewer’s requests first, as top priority. For any educational youtuber, it is important to address their audience as so it does for Video Geeks.
If there are no Requests then we try to ask from our personal experts. We don’t want to reveal the actual names of our experts because there are no specific people. We have a group of people, some of them work in industry, some of them work in Business, some of them are students whom we trust for their genuine opinion. We try to take requests from them because they are doing most of the hands-on work in their respective jobs and they have an idea of where they are struggling. Their opinion helps Video Geeks fill the gaps.
If none of the above are available, we take our own decision based on current trends. This we take as a least priority because the trending things doesn’t guarantee that it will last long but it does help Video Geeks in grabbing more active engagements.
Research and Ideation
Process
As soon as we get the topic, we try our best to research on the internet about the topic and that too without taking help of any kind of AI which involves reading Documentation, Articles and Watching YouTube Videos about them.
Once we get some idea and our canvas starts to be visible, we then take help of AI to summarise the topic and compare our own research and AI’s output. If we find some important things that we have missed while self research then we make sure to add that to our canvas.
Doing above ends our Research Phase. Now, we start our Ideation Phase which involves doing practical experiments with the technology, asking for reviews from our experts, and finding FAQs about specific problems that are faced by most users.
Through this process we get the information about the things that are required to be addressed from the high level topic. We then prepare the chapters which are required to be made. There might be multiple chapters based on the topic. After that, we try to arrange the chapters in-order.
By the end of this Ideation Page, we will have the working path to deliver the content.
Record and Edit
Once we have the working path we draft the basic scripts for the entire topic. We then divide the topics into chapters and draft a script for each chapter. All these chapters will be a single video. After that, we record the content. We make sure that we have video capture of the speaker with the screen capture because that helps establish trust with the audience.
While recording we make sure to use a silent room to reduce noise and improve audio quality. We use a microphone to capture the audio which is not yet at the best level but it helps to capture great voice overs.
Once we’re done with the recording, we move towards the editing part. We use professional tools to edit the video. We usually keep less random cuts and avoid unnecessary transitions. We try to keep a simple editing style with the blend of soothing background music such (That too no copy right sounds) that viewers can easily vibe with the flow.
And as soon as we’re happy with the final cut, we export the video and schedule for upload. Later we usually take some measures to promote it too.
